NEW DELHI: "Drawing room complaints go unheard, try voting'' read one of the placards held by a group of 50 comprising university students, professors, professionals and government servants who got together on Tuesday evening at Jantar Mantar. They took part in a candlelight march asking people to cast their vote.
The campaign "Respect Your Vote'' was started by a Delhi based non-political social forum, Exercise Franchise for Good Governance (EFG) to drive the youth, upwardly mobile and opinion makers to the polling booths.
The campaign which is running in seven states urges and enthuses citizens to commit to vote through a formal signature.
There were a large number of Delhi University students participating in the march, who will be the first time voters and are eagerly waiting for May 7.
